Now here is how I compare with other students of the class:

I am also passionate about new media like other students in the class (e.g. Amanda Cofsky,  Christopher Konkol  and Cynthia "Cindy" Skach) I come from the sketch rec lab and have previously taken class with Dr Shippman just like Jimmy Ho and Hong-Hoe Kim.

• Music
• There is a lot of variety going from Japanese pop ( Allen Ma) to Classic Rock (Ross Peterson) or Country and Celtic  (Stephen Towns)
• TV & Video
• While not very specific about the medium, most students like comedy series too such as big bang theory, new girl and modern family.
• Social Networking
• I use Google+ and LinkedIn as many of the others, I used facebook by the time of the first assignment but I deactivated it now, where I guess I differ from most now. Twitter and MySpace is used by some students as well.
• Videogames
• Lots of Firsp person shooters like in Cynthia "Cindy" Skach, RPGs  Amanda Cofsky or Strategy  Sungmin Hong

Welcome to CPSC 445/656: Computers and New Media

I am taking this course because I have always been passionate about the ways new media can change the way we communicate and entertain. I took a class with the same name but given by the Arts department during my undergrad in Colombia. It was by far my favorite class outside of computer science.

This is the third class I take with Dr Shipman. I am currently in the Sketch Recognition Lab, and I enjoy it very much. I plan to take some fresh and interesting ideas that hopefully I can apply to my research.
